Kukka

Tein erilaisista mustien lankojen lopuista itselleni baskerin. Olen hirveän huono käyttämään minkäänlaisia pipoja tms. Oli keli millainen tahansa, niin useimmiten kuljen paljain päin, mutta pahimmilla keleillä vetäisen hupun päähän. Huppu onkin siis ehdoton edellytys minun takeissani. :D

Välillä mielessä on kuitenkin käynyt, että josko joku todella löysä ja roikkuva baskeri olisi sellainen, jota osaisin pitää ja pitihän sen tekoa kokeilla. Minulla on oikeasti iso pää ja paksuhko tukka, joten ensin lähdin tekemään ohjeen mukaisilla puikoilla, mutta lisäsin silmukoita siten, että kukan terälehtiä tulikin 12 kappaletta. Baskeri oli liian pieni!?

Eihän siinä sitten auttanut muu kuin purkaa se ja sen jälkeen lähdinkin tekemään sitä pienintä kokoa kaksinkertaisella langalla ja reilusti isommalla puikkokoolla. Se näytti jossain vaiheessa pesuvadilta, mutta kavennusten jälkeen siitä muodostui juuri sellainen löysä, roikkuva baskeri kuin pitikin.



I made a beret for myself using almost all the possible black leftovers I had. Usually I do not use any kind of caps etc. I’m the one who is bareheaded always, no matter of the weather. In the extreme situation I might use the jacket’s hood, but that’s it. Due to that hood is the prerequisite when I buy a jacket for me. :D

Every now and then I have been thinking whether a really slouchy beret could be something which I would like to use – that’s the reason why a decided to knit one. To be honest I have a big/large (?) head and my hair is quite thick; I thought it is better to increase the amount of stitches even though I was about to make the largest side available. As a result I had 12 petals and even after that the beret was too small?!

So, I had to frog the whole thing and start again. On the second time I used the stitch count for the smaller size, but double yarn and much bigger needles. in certain phase I was not sure, whether I am knitting a beret or basin, but after the decreases it was just perfect – a slouchy beret I wanted.
