Peflettejä?

Virkkasin 2 jättisuurta 40 cm x 40 cm pannulappua ja julistin ne pefleteiksi. Koska sinistä lankaa löytyi se yllätyskerä ja valkoista oli rippunen, niin virkkasin yhden 34 cm x 34 cm pannulapun ja julistin sen, ööh, pieneksi käsipyyhkeeksi.

Olen toiveikas, että valkoista tai sinistä puuvillalankaa ei enää tupsahda mistään.



I crocheted two BIG potholders (size 40 cm x 40 cm) and named those as seatcovers. In Finland we use those in sauna. Since I found one additional "surprise" skein of blue and still had some white I crocheted on 34 cm x 34 cm pot holder and named that as <...thinking...> a small hand towel.

I hope I have used all the white and blue cotton now.

Hexagon matto / carpet

Jämälankojen tuhoaminen jatkuu. Tein toisenkin kylppäriin käyvän maton, tällä kertaa hexagoneista. Kuvittelin sinisen langan loppuneen ja sen vuoksi tein muutaman valkoisen hexagonin reunoihin. No, kun sain maton valmiiksi, löysin kaappeja kolutessani vielä yhden kerän sinistä. Tyypillistä. Jämälankojen tuhoaminen jatkuu edelleeen.

I still have these leftover projects, since I want to "clean" my stash. I crocheted another carpet, which we can use in our bathroom, this time I used hexagon-pattern. I thought I run out of blue yarn and due to that I crocheted some white hexagons in the corners. Of course, I found one additional blue skein AFTER I had finished the carpet already. So typical. I have to continue with these leftover projects.

Lankoja / Yarns

On taas kertynyt muutamat klubilangat, joita ei ole tullut raportoitua tänne. Ensin vaikkapa ZenGoddess Lace Clubin heinäkuun ja elokuun lähetykset.

Heinäkuun lähetyksessä oli GoddessKnitsin ohje pienehköön huiviin nimeltä Hathor ja siihen sopiva keltainen lanka, joka oli Zen Yarn Gardenin Serenity 20. Langan väri on myös nimeltään Hathor. Paketissa oli myös huiviin tarvittavat helmet, sellaisia pieniä punertavia.

I have received few club yarn deliveries, which I have not reported here. Here are the ZenGoddess Lace Club's July and August deliveries.

July's delivery contained GoddessKnit's pattern for a shawlette called Hathor and Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity 20 yarn, which yellow color is called Hathor as well. There were also the small, kind of red beads needed for the shawlette.



Sitten saman klubin elokuun paketti; siinä paketissa oli ohje punaiseen Venus kauluriin. Ja tietenkin lanka, jonka punainen väri oli myöskin nimeltään Venus, tällä kertaa Zen Yarn Gardenin Serenity Sock -lankaa. Paketista löytyi myös kaulukseen tarvittavat 3 nappia.

Then August delivery from the same club; it contained a pattern for red cowl called Venus. Of course the Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity Sock's red color had the same name as well. Package also contained the needed 3 buttons.



Tämän jälkeen hypätäänkin Titityyn Sukkalankaklubiin - elokuun lähetyksessä oli 2 lankaa Punta Yarnsilta. Toinen oli Merisock Space Dyed.

After presenting those packages I change to Titityy's Sock Yarn Club - August delivery contained 2 yarns from Punta Yarns. The other one was Merisock Space Dyed.

Lopuksi pitää vielä kertoa, että jämälankaprojektini vaati vähän lisäapuja kaupasta. Hirveällä kiireellä poikkesin Tampereella avattuun Lankamaailma Nordiaan ja kuvittelin ostavani pari kerää valkoista puuvillalankaa. No, onhan siinä puuvillaa, mutta puolet on akryyliä. :D

I have to share this with you as well. My leftover yarn project required some additional yarn, which I did not have. Due to that I visited the recently opened yarn shop, which is Lankamaailma Nordia's Tampere shop. I was in a hurry and I thought I bought two skeins of cotton yarn. Yes, it contains cotton, but it is 50% acrylic. :D

Catherine Wheel matto / carpet

No, kun nyt vauhtiin pääsin ja koska olin löytänyt noita kummallisia puuvillalankoja, niin rupesinpa tekemään "mattoja". Meillä on suihkukaappi ja tähän saakka siinä kaapin edessä on pidetty pientä pyyhettä, jonka päälle voi märillä jaloilla astua. Vähän sellainen ajatus, että se kylppärin lattia pysyisi kuivana, eikä kastuisi joka suihkussa käynnin yhteydessä. No, senhän tietää, että ne pienet pyyhkeet on aina vähän rullalla ja näyttävät siltä, että joku on laittanut pyyhkeen lattialle.

Tein sitten kohtuu tiukkaa virkaten tuollaisen Catherine Wheel palasen ja se saa luvan toimia mattona. Lankaa meni sellaiset 360 grammaa tuohon 57 cm x 69 cm palaseen, joten taidan tehdä toisenkin maton, mutta ehkä jollain eri kuviolla.



Since I still have crocheting mood on and since I found those weird cotton yarns I decided to crochet some “carpets”. We have shower cubicle and so far I have had a small towel on the floor in front of it. When I (or someone else) step out from the cubicle I (or someone else) can stand on the towel and I (or someone else) do not have to dry the floor after each time someone takes a shower. But I guess you know towel on the floor looks like you have a towel on the floor. Not good.

I crocheted one piece using Catherine Wheel pattern and I used a bit smaller hook to be able to get a tight result. I used app. 360 grams of yarn and the size of the carpet is 57 cm x 69 cm, so, I have some yarn for another carpet as well. Though I guess I will use another pattern.

Jämälankapeitto / Leftover Blanket

Ja vihdoin, pitkästä aikaa jotain valmistakin. Tosin en siitä kauaa ehtinyt iloita, kun kävi niin, että lähisukulainen oli kylässä peiton valmistuttua ja hän ihastui siihen sen verran, että tuli annettua peitto hänelle. Kuvion nimi on Catherine Wheel ja tämä on minusta varsin helppo tapa hukata jämälankoja. Yleensähän minun jämälankaprojektini näyttävät lähinnä oudoilta, mutta tämä näyttää mielestäni ihan asialliselta.

Finally I have something finished instead of WIPs. However, I did not have possibility to enjoy seeing the finished blanket, since one of my closest relatives was visiting my home when I was weaving in the ends. She liked the blanket a lot and due to that I gave it to her. The name of the pattern is Catherine Wheel and I think it was an easy way to get rid of leftover yarns. Usually my leftover projects are more or less weird looking, but in my opinion this is an exception to that “rule”.



Minulla oli jostain syystä varastoissani vanhaa vaaleaa mintunvihreää Novita Vauvalanka vajaa 10 kerää ja tämän lisäksi hyvin sekalainen valikoima erivärisiä nyttyröitä. Jaoin nyttyrät kolmeen pinoon eli yhteen pinoon meni punaiseen vivahtavat sävyt eli punaiset, violetit ja ruskeat. Toiseen pinoon laitoin kaikki sinisen sävyt ja kolmanteen meni kaikki vaaleat eli valkoiset ja keltaiset. Sitten vain raidoitin eli "punainen" raita, "sininen" raita ja "valkoinen" raita ja mintun vihreää joka väliin. Koska vihreitä ja paria muuta oli vielä, kun muut loppui, niin virkkasin reunaan leveän kehyksen kiinteillä silmukoilla ja aivan reunaan tein kerroksen rapuvirkkausta.

For some reason I had several; almost 10 skeins of old, light green Novita Vauvalanka yarn. In addition to this I had lot of leftovers in different colors. I categorized the leftovers to “red”, “blue” and “white”. “Red” ones contained all the red, lilac and brown shades, “blue” ones included turquoise and blue and “white” included all the white and yellow leftovers. Then I just crocheted one pattern using “red”, then “blue” and “white”. In between of those I always made one pattern using that light green. When I had used almost all the yarns I still had quite a lot of green and some blue and white; I crocheted a frame using single crochet stitches and as a last row I made some crab stitches.



Peiton koko on noin 120 cm x 150 cm ja se painaa noin 750 grammaa.

The size of the blanket is app. 120 cm x 150 cm and the weight of it is app. 750 grams.

Löytöjä ullakolta / Some treasures found

Löysin historiallisia lankoja vinttikomerosta. / I found some historical yarns from attic.

Almost 7 skeins of white Novita yarn called 100% puuvilla (100% cotton), made by Helsingin Villakehräämö.

ZenGoddess Lace Club - May & June

Kertoilinkin jo aiemmin tuosta Lace Clubista, johon liityin. Tuon postauksen jälkeen onkin tullut 2 lähetystä.

I told earlier about the Lace Club I joined. After that post I have received two deliveries.

Toukokuun paketti piti sisällään sukkaohjeen lankoineen ja pienen puikkopussukan.
May's package contained instructions and yarn for socks and small needle case.



Kesäkuun paketista löytyi tarpeet pieneen huiviin.
June's package contained all the things needed for a shawlette.
